- entre 2010 et2020, 11 millions d’hectares déboisés par an, dont 9,8 dans les pays tropicaux (à plus de 80% par l’agriculture et l'élevage);
- et 3 millions ha plantés par an dont 2,1 millions ha de boisements (pour plus de la motion en Chine)
- environ 1/7ème des émissions anthropiques de carbone sont dues à la déforestation et la dégradation des forêts ;
- entre 1990 et 2020, plus 140 millions d’hectares de forêts "primaires" ont disparu (9% ) ; les aires protégées contiennent environ 18 % de la surface totale des forêts du monde.
